Master Grower/ Grow Technician

Location - Philadelphia  

 

 

Job Description

The Cultivation Manager is responsible for managing all cultivation and growing operations and employees. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a large scale **organic aeroponic grow systems
  • Performs all the tasks in the grow cycle, including transplanting, feeding, cloning, cropping and inventory management.
  • Hires, trains, and leads a cultivation team of 20+ employees.
  • Working directly with the dispensary teams and the Operations Manager to ensure the quantity, mix and yield of strains planted will meet patient and market needs for medicine and treatment.
  • Keeps a open mind and works in a collaborative manner.

Sets cultivation goals for the manufacturing facilities including:

  • Develops growing and greenhouse utilization plans to maximize growing efficiency for products.
  • Ensures all cultivation related standard operating procedures are followed, including inventory management, security and cleanliness SOPs 
  • Routine daily activities required to ensure plant maintenance and general operation of the cultivation areas.
  • Routine daily activities required to ensure clones and mother maintenance and general operation of the propagation room to ensure adequate crop production.
  • Measuring and reporting performance metrics and criteria with respect to cloning, potting, and other activities. 
  • Establishes and implements plans for establishing a perpetual harvest.
  • Identifies and secures new tools, equipment and items needed to implement new techniques and processes.

  • Sets budget for cultivation operations at the manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

  • We're looking for a strong professional with a background in horticulture or agriculture and 10 years experience leading a large scale operation
  • Bachelors degree required. Advanced degree preferred
  • Knowledge of plants, diseases, insects and fungi, as well as plant treatment options

Processing Technician

Location - Philadelphia  

Job Description

We are seeking Processing Technicians to perform cannabis harvesting, drying, trimming, and packaging operations for our PA cultivation and processing center. Each Processing Technician will be responsible for safely and effectively harvesting, drying, trimming, converting the cannabis materials into high quality products.

 

  • Learns and performs proper techniques for harvesting, drying and curing Cannabis
  • Cross-trains on and working alongside with the Processing team with the harvest, drying, trimming, weighing, and packaging of VLS broad medical cannabis product line when required. 
  • Cleans any/all production areas to ensure no cross contamination occurs.
  • Follows the SOP’s in regards to documenting your daily work on daily recap sheet. 
  • Follows appropriate control measures to prevent mixing of batches and/or weights of batches.
  • Performs in-process and post-process quality assurance testing and conducting visual inspections to ensure the product meets or exceeds VLS quality standards.
  • Aspires to learn the componants of the plant.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Performing his/her duties in a safe manner and environment while adhering to all governmental regulations for this industry.  
  • Carrying out all harvesting, drying, trimming, weighing and packaging operations in an efficient manner that also complies with all GMP’s, OSHA regulations, VLS SOP’s and all applicable required procedures.
  • Ensuring 100% compliance and accuracy involving all product tracking, product security, and product movement procedures.  
  • Following appropriate control measures to prevent mixing of cannabis strains and batches.  
  • Performing in-process and post-process quality assurance testing and conducting visual inspections to ensure all product meets or exceed VLS specifications and patients’ expectations. Such quality assurance work and reporting shall include but not be limited to:
  • Recording and monitoring process conditions to ensure compliance to standard operating procedures
  • Proper weighing, data recording, and batch tracking throughout VLS process
  • Continually strive and work with the remainder of the Production Team to improve VLS processes for improved patient safety, quality, and efficient manufacturing
  • Assist in monitoring processing supplies and inventory.

 

 

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D minimum.

Age: State law requires that applicants be 21 years old and over.

Experience: The ideal candidate will have at least one to three years of manufacturing and packaging experience with a focus on ensuring product safety, consumer safety and satisfaction, and high product quality. 

Physical Requirements: Include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying product totes, pushing carts, moving and making adjustments to process equipment.

Operations Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager with strong management and production experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical, food, beverage, or cannabis industries to start up and manage our Philadelphia operations. This facility will cultivate cannabis and produce high quality medical cannabis products that patients can utilize via a number of different administration methods.

The Operations Manager will lead and drive all aspects of VLS Philadelphia facility's processing of cannabis into patient safe, high quality, and effective medicinal cannabis products for registered patients. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring VLS/PRANA products are produced in a safe environment for our employees while adhering to all governmental regulations for this industry.
  • Ensuring all products are safe and effective for patient use. Develop and enforce proper product and work-in-process tracking, movement, product security and compliance with FDA cGMP's, OSHA regulations, and applicable laboratory procedures.
  • Lead and drive an effective and efficient startup of all operations.
  • Work closely with VLS partners/dispensaries and manage the supply chain, the operations, and inventory levels to ensure timely delivery of VLS/PRANA products.
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement, lean operations, quality improvement, and capacity expansion initiatives.
  • Effectively manage and streamline all aspects of the supply chain and each process step carried out at the facility.
  • Identify, lead, and develop talent to maximize individual, team, and organizational effectiveness to meet company goals.
  • Participate in VLS innovation programs and drive the implementation of new products.

 

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have proven experience in a medical cannabis, food, beverage, or pharmaceutical environment with a high attention to detail, organization skills, excellent communication skills with the ability to operate in a safe, detailed and accurate manner.

  • A minimum 7-10 years of proven manufacturing management and leadership experience preferably within the pharmaceutical, food, or beverage industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing related discipline- Engineering or Operations preferred. Degrees in other disciplines are acceptable in conjunction with suitable experience and accomplishment. Advanced degree preferred.

SECURITY GUARD

VLS is looking for a full-time Manager to join our Security Operations and Anti-Diversion team. You will help lead our Pennsylvania security team operations for our dispensaries and cultivation center.

This role leads every detail of the State's security plan, including managing all security technology, overseeing all transportation security, managing access to facilities, and training company personnel in risk management. This role will be responsible for anti-theft oversight and training, and will manage a sizable team of security professionals working in multiple locations.

The most critical function of the Manager of Security Operations will be to manage personnel and implement training programs for all company employees. While our Manager of Security Operations must have expertise in first-responder security, this role is also administrative and requires impressive organizational and management skills.

 

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have a background in the military or law enforcement, or similar background, and be strong project managers with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The Manager of Security Operations will be a creative manager, who will add value by scrutinizing our company's operations with the goal of improving our risk profile across the enterprise.

Transportation Driver

Location - Philadelphia 

Job Description

This position will require significant local travel within the State of Pennsylvana. Couriers are responsible for safely, securely, and lawfully transporting cannabis to dispensaries, samples to laboratories, and strains to cultivation centers, as well as ensuring strict adherence to all delivery and manifest protocols and controls. Couriers will work alongside a partner to provide security for the staff and product from our cultivation facilities to off-site locations. Couriers also may provide back up for guards in our cultivation center.

Qualifications

 

• At least 21 years of age

• At least 5 years prior or equivalent experience as a driver or law enforcement

• Able to obtain a Cultivation Registration Identification Card from the Illinois Department of Agriculture

• Current driver's license and a good driving record

VLS is looking for a creative, resourceful, technically savvy graphic designer who can evolve concepts into multimedia content, including marketing videos, sales collateral, print, newsletters, and online content. The ideal candidate willbe responsible for maintaining brand standards and provide both stewardship and vision of the content in a fast paced environment.  The designer will collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, and other internal teams to develop and execute our creative strategy. You will have the opportunity to work with seasoned designers and content creators with over 20 years of advertising and global account experience. 

Primary responsibilities include overseeing the conceptualization of projects, designs, and providing multimedia marketing and collateral campaigns for effective promotion of corporate image, branding and programmatic marketing initiatives. This person must demonstrate the ability to work as a creative project manager to determine design/production requirements, deadlines, and messaging objectives in order to create design materials that are on strategy, on time, and on budget. The ideal candidate will have an eye for artful design, possess excellent organization, project management and technical qualities to translate and transform requirements into intuitive and functional user marketing collateral. 

Essential Functions

·  Collaborates with internal teams to define and design innovative materials and solutions. Develops internal and external presentations, as well as graphics for product illustrations, logos, and websites.

·  Assists in implementing branding strategy, and develops/enhances collateral within brand guidelines

·  Creates and executes all visual design stages from concept to final implementation of storyboards, process flows, mock-ups and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or arts, with 5 years’ experience. Healthcare/medical experience preferred but not required.

Production Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Production Manager with strong management and production experience preferably in the pharmaceutical, food, beverage, or cannabis industries to manage our Extraction and Formulating Department at our Philadelphia loaction. Our cultivation center will cultivate cannabis, produces high quality extraction products from raw flower material, create innovative medical cannabis concentrates, infused products. 

The Production Manager will lead and drive all extraction, formulating, and FDA spec production activities at this facility. The Production Manager will also be responsible for launching new products produced via extraction, formulating, and product preparation. Responsibilities include:

 

  • Leading and managing our extraction and formulation production team to efficiently produce high quality concentrates, pills, vapable products, and other infused cannabis medications for our patients.
  • Ensuring VLS extracted, infused, and edible products are produced in a safe environment for our employees while adhering to all governmental regulations for this industry.
  • Ensuring all products are safe and effective for patient use. Develop and enforce proper product and work-in-process tracking, movement, product security and compliance with cGMP's, OSHA regulations, applicable laboratory procedures, and State of Pennsylvania regulations.

  • Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing related discipline: Engineering, Sciences, Food Sciences, or Operations required. Degrees in other disciplines in conjunction with suitable experience and accomplishment will be considered.

VLS is looking for a laboratory director to oversee all scientific operations in our on site facility laboratory. The job will include significant administrative and regulatory compliance duties.

Laboratory Technician:

• Oversee all scientific operations at the laboratory
• Oversee all scientific personnel, including hiring, training, professional development and discipline
• Ensure that all data generated by the scientific team meet quality control requirements
• Ensure regulatory compliance, including safety, environmental and documentation requirements
• Ensure an environment of open communication and continual improvement
• Identify and implement new technologies and methodologies to improve laboratory workflow and data quality
• Interact with clients to explain results and as part of marketing outreach
• Represent Rm3 Labs in regulatory and legislative meetings and hearings

• Extensive experience with HPLC, GC, GC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS instrumentation a strong plus
• Experience with ISO17025, CLIA or similar certification process a plus
